MJP’s West London hostel planning win covered by the Architects’ Journal

MJP have won the go-ahead for a new hostel for LHA London in Harrow Road near Paddington, west London.

The scheme will provide accommodation at a reasonable cost for young working people and students — the majority being designed as ‘microflats’ with their own kitchenettes, shower rooms and with a larger floor area than conventional student accommodation.

The design promotes community life by placing social spaces and shared facilities — such as laundry and study areas – in the circulation ‘hotspots’, near lifts and stairs. They are designed to animate both the life of the building and its architecture.

The Architects’ Journal reported the news on 5th May 2012.
