MJP sponsored Basil Spence book is published

MJP were pleased to have been among the sponsors of the new RIBA monograph ‘Basil Spence : buildings and projects’ which was published in March 2012.

Edited by Louise Campbell, Miles Glendinning and Jane Thomas the book examines Spence’s key buildings (including Coventry Catherdral, Sussex University, Swiss Cottage Library, Hyde Park Cavalry Barracks), sets them in their historical and critical context and provides an overview of his practice’s history and his public and personal life.

MJP became particularly aware of Basil Spence’s work during the Coventry Phoenix Initiative project – a series of public spaces and major public art programme, built around a route which links Basil Spence’s Coventry Cathedral, through the eleventh century Priory to the Transport Museum and ultimately, the Garden of International Friendship.
