MJP wins green light for Jersey quarry scheme [Wesmount Quarry, Jersey]
MJP Architects have been given the go-ahead for this 196-flat development on the site of a former quarry in St Helier, Jersey.
Architects’ Journal 29 July 2010, p.8
The form of this development was generated in response to it’s dramatic site. The central buildings rise in a series of steps in front of the quarry cliff face, creating landscaped terraces and making a gradual transition from the public realm up to a skyline marked by emphatic cantilevering roofs. The flanks are a series of angled walls with windows oriented towards the view of St Aubin’s Bay.
