Berry Bros & Rudd was a winner at the Schüco Excellence Awards at London’s Leadenhall Building last week.
The Excellence Awards, supported by the RIBA Journal, are widely respected and are now in their third year. This year’s judges included Hugh Pearman from the RIBA Journal, Louise Cotter of Carr Cotter Naessens, and AHMM’s Paul Monaghan.
The Berry Bros and Rudd project is located in the St James’s Conservation Area in Westminster, on a very tight and sensitive urban site at the corner of Pall Mall and St James. It is surrounded on three sides by four Grade II* listed buildings so great care had to be taken during the construction process.
The building is effectively split into two distinct parts. At Ground floor and above the scheme provides approx. 9000sq. ft of lettable office floor space whilst below ground level the new and refurbished basements extend BB&R’s existing Hospitality and Wine School facilities.
